The Economist has been hyping 3D printing for at least the last three years. I find the technology fascinating too: it decentralizes production, empowers creative designers and innovators…It completely blows my mind when thinking of all the possibilities it opens (and definitely makes me want to use a 3D design modelling application like Tinkercad)!
Tinkerers [of 3D printers] could well rewrite the rules of manufacturing in much the same way as the PC trashed the traditional world of computing.
